Vango tents offer a design for every kind of camping trip

Vango tents come highly recommended for their quality and design, as well as the wide variety of options available to suit everyone from the first-time camper to the seasoned backpacker or family group.

The Adventure range for instance comprises budget tents in a choice of designs, including tunnel tents such as the Zetes 300 and semi-geodesic structures like the Sigma 300. These tents are excellent value for money and provide a positive introduction to camping.

Popup tents have been becoming more ‘pop’ ular, as those new to camping often find pitching a tent can be awkward and off-putting and sometimes, if a blustery shower moves in, a quick pitch means sitting safely inside the tent instead of struggling with wet, flapping material and poles. Vango’s popup tents range from a beginner’s single-skin version to more sturdy and weatherproof options such as the Dart DS 300. There are also a couple of tepee-style tents, such as the Juno Tepee 300, where there is no separate inner and the emphasis is on simplicity and sociability.

Vango’s Weekend tents are ideal for families or couples having a short break. These tents can sleep from three to eight people depending on the design, and offer different arrangements in terms of living and sleeping compartments. The family can safely slumber in bedrooms laid out next to one another in a tent like the Artemis 600 or, if more privacy is required, they can snore away at opposite ends of the living area in the Breakout 6 DLX. More technical tents in the range, such as the Nevis 600, have an even more waterproof flysheet and use alloy poles instead of steel, making the tent lighter.

If separate sleeping chambers are preferred, the Colorado 600 DLX could be suitable, with its three individual bedroom pods arranged at intervals around a central dome, together with a porch space at one end. Vango’s Premium family tents offer the most space, comfort and flexibility of all, with options such as the Monte Verde 900 sleeping up to nine in a light, airy and customisable structure.

Cotton offers a cooler, more breathable alternative to nylon, and Vango has produced a Classic range using polycotton. The Aruba 600 is one such tent, which also sports alloy poles, a sewn-in groundsheet and a stable tunnel design, providing a delightful camping experience. For the environmentally conscious camper Vango offers an Eco range, with designs such as the Green Bean 350, where almost the entire tent apart from the groundsheet, zippers and poles is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.

Vango caters for backpackers and those who like to camp in the mountains, with an assortment of strong, lightweight tents ranging from the one person, single skin, Ultralite 100, weighing only one kilo, to the immensely stable Hurricane 200, which should stand up to most conditions the weather can throw at it. At Outdoor World Direct we have found these lightweight tents are popular with participants in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

Vango Tents – Let The Adventure Begin!

Vango Tents – Let The Adventure Begin!

We at Outdoor World Direct supply a wide range of tents for more extreme camping conditions. The Expedition Kit section of our catalogue is recommended by the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (D of E) – a charity we are particularly proud to support.

Established in 1956, the scheme is aimed at young people between the ages of 14 and 25. It is divided into bronze, silver and gold stages, each of which has four elements. The Expedition element is an important part of this. At each level, entrants must plan, train for and complete “an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.” Whether this is hiking the Pennines or kayaking in the Rockies, it invariably involves rough, even mountainous, terrain, and extreme conditions.

To facilitate this, the D of E has prepared a recommended kit list, which includes tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks and such like. We at Outdoor World Direct stock a range of D of E recommended equipment, which includes Vango tents, sleeping bags and rucksacks.

Why are Vango tents so ideal for the D of E? Well, firstly because they offer excellent value for money – an important factor, as those buying the tents are often schools, youth groups and students. Secondly, Vango have been making high quality tents for over 40 years, specialising in the more rugged end of the market. They manufacture a number of styles, each designed for a specific purpose – but all with rugged functionality in mind. Thus their family camping tents will have different specifications to those sold for mountaineering – but be just as durable.

Vango is constantly improving and updating their products, using the latest technology. Their TBS banding system, for example, ensures their tents will stay secure in the strongest of gales. The result is tents that are totally suited to the rigours of outdoor living, whether it be a family campsite or a mountainside. Those buying Vango tents for expeditions can be confident they will stand up to the worst of conditions, yet be roomy and comfortable, too.

In order for their kit to be Duke of Edinburgh Award recommended, Vango have had to prove their tents can cover the most extreme conditions, yet be suitable for a 14 year-old to carry and erect unaided. They have done this admirably. The Banshee, for example, is a solid, compact little tent that, like all Vango Expedition tents, is specially shaped to stand up to severe weather conditions. It is pitched “outer first”, giving maximum protection from the elements in the least possible time, and weighs less than 3 kg.

The Typhoon, like the Tempest, Hurricane and Tornado, will stand up to the strongest gales and heaviest rain. Innovative design elements, like semi-geodesic design, tension band system pitching and alloy poles aid stability and make the tent effortless to erect.  The Equinox, meanwhile, will sleep three people in comfort and is one of the most popular mountain tents on the market.

You don’t have to be a D of E candidate to enjoy the benefits of Vango expedition tents.  They are designed for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and wants a rugged, reliable roof over their heads.

Vango tents keep camping covered

With over forty years experience in the manufacture of the best camping equipment in the business, Vango is well practised in supplying customers with exactly what they need. As the British market seems to be increasingly interested in outdoor holidays, camping and festivals, the range of Vango tents has increased alongside.

With their production of tents and camping equipment stretching back for more than four decades, it is no wonder that Vango is confident that their products comprehensively meet the needs of anyone needing to spend some time under canvas.

Whether intended for a family heading off for a weekend in Snowdonia, festival goers needing a place to chill in the early afternoon, or for experienced hikers pushing themselves to the limit, Vango has a suitable tent.

Constructed from only the very latest, leading technology materials, the Vango tents offer a high level of comfort, notably with the well thought and sympathetically introduced mesh ventilation. With fire retardant materials used as standard, clear windows to aid observation and control, safety and security are also at the heart of their design.

This maxim is as true of Vango tents from popular ranges such as Oregon, Diablo and Idaho, up to the larger styles such as Colorado, which is suitable for up to eight or nine people. With feature canopies and porches too, they offer far more than basic solutions, though at fantastic prices.

Those requiring something on a lesser scale, for heading to those festivals or camping up on the whim of the season, lightweight models such as the Alpha are ideal. For those concerned with the environment too, it is good to know that much of the range is constructed of 80% recycled materials; at just as competitive prices as the rest of the range.

Across the range, from the existing favourites to the new season’s introductions such as the Artemis, affordability has been retained. Improving their offering across the range too, the accessories and options available are extensive and can be tailored to any budget and need. With a host of colours available too, they are a fun as well as practical solution.

Indeed, for many the colour is all important of course. Mindful of this, Vango tents are fast becoming popular amongst the bird watching fraternity, nature lovers and huntsmen and women; able to blend in with rocky outcrops and autumnal environments.

Across the range, Vango tents could not be easier to put up, meaning they are ideal for the novice backpacker and expert alike of course. Fans will know about and love their colour coded poles of course, whilst newbies will wonder what the fuss to put up a tent is all about.

With all this to offer, it is unsurprisingly one of the most popular brands in its field and Vango tents perform at the highest level. For its wide-ranging selection, at Outdoor World Direct we offer Vango tents and many other solutions for getting the best from your outdoor experience.

A good test for the new omega 350 tbs 2010 model, gale force winds and driving rain , the tent held up fine , just a bit of a drip from the corner of the door zipper ,but the conditions were pretty extreme for low level camping , it got worse but the tent took it well ,a guy peg pulled out which i drove back in , and a couple of the other pegs did too , other than that we were warm and dry ,not like the other 4 tents on the field who all abandoned their sinking ships ..i also have a saunders mountain trek , and a mountain hardwear but we would never have cooked in this weather with either of those ,, all in all a great tent :)

Why Buy A Vango Tent?

Why Buy A Vango Tent?

There are many options when it comes to buying a tent, with many stores offering a wide range of tents all with different benefits and unique selling points. So what do you look for when you’re buying a tent? To be honest it depends on what you need it for and what conditions and climates it will be put under. This is the first thing you need to ask yourself before purchasing a tent, so that you don’t end up with a tent that is designed for conditions you do not need it for. For example you wouldn’t need a tent that could be used on Mt Everest if you were just camping in the Peak District in the summer.

After looking through many different brands of tents and option that were available to me and speaking to different shops and researching reviews online; the Vango tent stood out from the others, with many good reviews being posted on blogs. My advice is when buying a tent make sure you do your research because if you make a mistake and buy a sub standard tent, you not only waste your money but also ruin your trip, after all this is going to be your shelter, so it’s worth taking sometime to make sure you get the very best.

One of the main benefits of a Vango tent is their dedication to making sure that their product, the Vango tent ranges all contain the unique innovations that include reliability, creative modern designs and most importantly ease of use. Having spoken to many people regarding this, they all tend to come back with the same response which is, ‘the Vango tent was a great purchase’. Vango tents have tents to suit pretty much all needs. They have tents for the one person traveller up to the full family 8 man tents with up to 4 bedrooms. They also offer their products with a range of colour options and also varied pitching times, allowing you to make a really specific choice for what you need it to achieve.

Having looked and researched many people’s reviews, one excellent benefit that has consistently come up is the fact that when a Vango tent is put up against quite intense rain conditions, many people have reported not a single drop gets through. Now this to me is a huge selling point for the Vango tent ranges, because there is no better selling point than a firsthand experience and testimonial to the reliability of a product. Also it does give the peace of mind that if you come under heavy rain you have a reliable adequate shelter at hand.

One of the main reasons I think a Vango tent should be purchased is for the reliability factor you buy when you purchase a Vango product. They do not seem to take short cuts with quality and for me that is the best selling point that Vango tents has over the competition.
