The Brothers Bloom (2009)

The Brothers Bloom are the best con men in the world, swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust, intrigue and the most complex literary-inspired setups imaginable. The Brothers Bloom is a 2009 American postmodern caper film written and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz, Ricky Jay, Rinko Kikuchi, and Robbie Coltrane. It was released in four theaters on May 15, 2009, and expanded into wide release two weeks later on May 29.

Brothers – older Stephen and three years junior Bloom – have been con artists since they were kids. Stephen is the mastermind, for who the intricacy of the story used in the con is as important as the positive outcome of the swindle. Bloom is the main character of Stephen’s stories, the character he considers the anti-hero. As adults, they travel the world and never enlist the same people twice in their cons, except for their consistent sidekick, the mysterious and primarily silent Bang Bang, a Japanese woman who just appeared in their lives one day and who has a penchant for blowing things up. As Bloom hits his mid-thirties, he wants to quit the business as he is losing his own identity to that of the characters he portrays; he doesn’t know anymore what is real and what is make-believe. Stephen talks him into one last con, the mark to be the eccentric, lonely but beautiful New Jersey heiress, Penelope Stamp. Penelope’s primary past-time in life is to, as she calls it, “borrow hobbies”: when she sees something she likes, she learns how to do it solely through reading books. As the brothers go through their final con on Penelope, three main problems may occur to thwart the plan. First, the brothers’ former mentor and now arch enemy, Diamond Dog, may exact his long awaited revenge on the brothers. Second, Penelope may end up being more unpredictable than all their former marks. And third, Bloom, who has let love slip by in his life, may fall for Penelope….

Brother CS6000I machine is an incredible Value-for-money on the market today. It is very, very easy to use with a manual that is exceptionally helpful. It comes with every foot and accessory you could ever possibly need. It has convenience of fully computerized sewing, automatic needle threading, push button sewing and lots of fun stitches, don’t hesitate. Highly recommend this machine. This is the machine that some of the larger sewing and quilting exposure using in their workshops now because they are so light weight, easy to learn, and reliable.

Wanted a mid-range sewing machine with some flexibility, and this the machine. It sews quickly and flawlessly and super easy to learn. A good basic machine that would be great for a beginner or immediate sewer. This person made several purses. They stitched up very well. Good selection of presser feet with this machine. Easy to thread and no problem winding the bobbin.

Very happy with her purchase.

Have had some problems- but managed to figured it out. Good machine to use for making a quilt. Missing a ¼ inch foot that was shown in the manual. Went back to the Brother. Instruction manual is very helpful.

But problems, tension on the thread was messed up.

Then the thread was bunching up on the bottom side of project. Thought it was tension. But found out after changing the thread, that the Quality of the thread was the problem? “This machine does not like cheap thread.”
